Ram Dass' New Year's message
"Now that this decade of 2010 is upon us and we are in the midst of so much turmoil and suffering, I want to extend a wish for us. That wish is to be part of the process of energizing our consciousness in a way that manifests more compassion, more listening, more atonement, more justice, more sustainability, more harmony, more happiness, more peace and more love. I would like our lives to be a statement of all of that. Where we find it wanting, that’s where we are called to do our work on ourselves."

Question: What are some of the ways that I can deal with suffering and then start taking it to a place of Grace?
Ram Dass: For most people, when you say that suffering is Grace it seems off the wall to them. And we’ve got to deal now with our own suffering and other people’s suffering. Because that is certainly a distinction that is very real, because even if we understand the way in which suffering is Grace – that is the way in which it can be a vehicle for awakening – that is fine for us. It’s quite a different thing to look at somebody else’s suffering and say it’s Grace.

LOVE SERVE REMEMBER
LOVE SERVE REMEMBER was one of the life changing teachings given to Ram Dass from his guru, Neem Karoli Baba. His message of Love Everyone, Serve Everyone and Remember God is in of itself a method or a pathway to the Divine.
Giving Up Anger
“Forgiveness is the greatest weapon, because a saint so armed is unperturbable… he can give up anger immediately”
-Neem Karoli Baba
A young fellow once came and Maharajji asked him how he was, and he said, “Oh, Maharajji, I’ve overcome anger.” Maharajji said, “Oh, very good!” and kept praising him. more..

It was somewhere around 2003 and I was going through a very difficult time. My husband and I were getting divorced and our three children were only one, three, and four years old. I was pretty much on the ground, not able to move. I saw the movie Fierce Grace at a video store and rented it. It spoke so incredibly deeply to my being as I watched it, and then at the end something that I call miraculous happened. At the end of the movie Ram Dass is saying something like, "...life after the stroke is like a whole new incarnation...I try to find peace in this moment, and in this moment, and in this moment..."
